‘No Brainer’ ToughTech Duo 3SR Adds USB 3.0, Lowers Price
— June 5, 2012 — CRU-DataPort is now shipping the ToughTech Duo 3SR, which adds USB 3.0 to the award-winning ToughTech series of storage drives popular with photographers and those who need easy-to-use, reliable storage for images, video, and other important data, as well as for backup or mobile data acquisition. The new ToughTech Duo 3SR portable RAID storage system works with two 2.5" notebook or solid state drives and simplifies data redundancy by writing the same information in real time to both drives with easy-to-configure RAID.
ToughTech Duo 3SR distinguishes itself with its feature-packed, ruggedized, hand-sized chassis (measuring 6.3 x 3.5 x 1.4 inches, the unit weighs just over a pound and a half). Features include an LCD menu to monitor drive health and configure RAID with intuitive, soft-touch navigation. The all- aluminum ToughTech Duo 3SR stays cool without fans, making the unit extremely quiet. Users can take advantage of the USB 3.0 interface option for the fastest transfer rates without sacrificing flexibility: the ToughTech Duo 3SR also has USB 2.0 or eSATA connections. The unit comes with a multi-country AC power supply, convenient for international travel. A standard Kensington Security Slot is integrated into the ToughTech Duo 3SR chassis, making it easy to add a lock for physical security.
Finger-swappable drives: unique trays make replacing drives in the ToughTech Duo easy and safe – and instant. No tools required. Drives can be quickly handed to colleagues, sent offsite or replaced with new capacity. Alternatively, the ToughTech Duo comes with screws so drives can be fastened down to withstand vibration and shock in extreme environments.
